With the classic BOSS BF-2 Flanger, a flanging effect is produced by combining the original signal with an electronically delayed signal. Using four controls, you can tailor a variety of sounds--from dynamic jet-plane effects to short delay, chorus and vibrato sounds.

The Boss BF-2 Flanger is one of the best mid-priced flangers out there in pedal land. The range of modulation manipulation the BF-2 is capable of is staggering. Spend an hour or two with this wonder and you will be dialing in typical "finger on the tape" flanger sounds, insane jet plane swooshings, sweeping choruses, death-ray vibratos, hazy pads, short reverberated slapbacks, and even a bit of lead boost! Toss a distortion in the mix and you are in a whole other realm of wild and wacky sounds. When activated, the BF-2 does tend to add a tiny bit of metallic ping to your overall sound, which may be a little disappointing if you are used to the warm MXR or ADA Flangers of the 1970s. Despite this slight sonic annoyance, it is still a great box with a lot of tricks up its purple sleeve.
