Panasonics EY7840X 14.4V SDS Plus Rotary Hammer is a versatile tool built powerful and tough in a compact lightweight frame, focused on delivering continuous drilling into concrete, brick and block.

The EY7840X has two modes, hammer mode and drill mode. In the hammer mode the EY7840X drills concrete with a speed of 0 -1,000 rpm and a maximum of 4,000 blows per minute with a hitting force of 21.6 Kn. In the drill mode the EY7840X delivers a speed of 0-1,000 rpm for drilling and fastening into wood and metal. The EY7840X features a 5 stage clutch that delivers 13 48 in.lbs. of torque in 9 in. lbs. increments. The convenient SDS bit adaptor allows you to fasten in concrete, wood and metal. The chuck is a 5/8 capacity SDS-plus bit system utilizing a push to insert bit style with a one touch bit release for easy bit insertion and removal. The EY7840X features a new air-coupling hammer mechanism for quick hole drilling into concrete. The air system hammer uses compressed air to drive the piston and deliver power effectively. This high-quality, versatile tool is ideal for installation, mechanical, electrical, and maintenance work.

The EY7840X offers a full complement of convenience features including an LED Work Light that illuminates the work area when in use and an attachable shoulder strap for when both hands are in use. The EY7840X is compact in size (9 long) and weighs only 4.1 lbs. The ergonomic design delivers a comfortable contoured rubber grip which allows for less fatigue over extended use. The convenient location of the variable speed control trigger and forward/reverse switch permits one hand operation. The lightweight design makes this tool ideal for overhead work During overhead work its dust proof trigger prevents fine particles of dust from entering the tool and causing problems with the switch or motor.

The EY7840LN2S is powered by a 3.0ah Cobalt Li-ion battery pack. This battery pack delivers high output with low heat generation resulting in twice the lifetime total performance versus current Ni-Cd battery packs. In addition the EY7840X utilizes Panasonics unique GuardION system. The GuardION system monitors each battery cell during battery charging and during tool use to prevent over discharging and overheating of the battery pack thus insuring long life.

The EY7840X uses a self diagnostic universal battery charger which electronically monitors the condition of each cell in the battery pack during the charging process to deliver full charging with minimal heat generation. The 3.0ah Li-ion battery pack fully charges in 50 minutes. The charger will charge all Panasonic battery chemistries Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Li-ion and all voltages from 7.2-28.8v. The EY7840X is a bare tool format. The EY7840X is available as a full kit - EY7840LN2S.
