Communication
Ethernet, Modem, or 802.11 b/g Wireless LAN; the NEC Quovio TCM160 enables users to access their work environment wherever they are, at work or away.

Mobility and Battery life
With a notebook chassis and long lasting battery life, working away from the office has never been easier. Also, with no hard drive and no spinning mechanical parts it’s a silent solution with an exceptionally low failure rate and easy level of maintenance.

Security
The read only document system protects the NEC Quovio TCM160 from all outside intrusions and attacks. As there is no data or applications stored locally, centralised administration is done with ease.

The Quovio TCM160 has a highly secure Wireless connection and is perfect for most business needs. It uses various security protocols, including WEP, WPA, WPA2 and also the 802.1x authentication with EAP.

It is a multi-purpose terminal, thanks to the flexible and customisable Windows XPe operating system.
Available with Windows XP Embedded the NEC Quovio TCM160 allows more flexibility for peripherals as it uses the same drivers as Windows XP Professional.

We have tested this product with great success in various countries, for example, the 3G networks of Orange and Vodafone will enable users not to be restricted to a local Wireless LAN connection, but instead use the wide coverage of various network such as GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, and HSDPA.

This version also enables users to install light software: VPN clients, viewers of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The NEC Quovio TCM160 has also been validated by authentication solutions such as Sign & Go of ILEX which uses a CPS card for medical activities and BlueLoc of BlueLinea.
