NEC CB-1100 Combo Drive

The combination drive for combined use.

The CB-1100 from Sony NEC Optiarc brings together various optical storage disciplines. This device is a DVD drive and a CD burner rolled in one. Thanks to its combined functionality, it is well suited for a series of new and specialized applications.

An overview of its technical capabilities: The CB-1100 reads DVD-ROMs at speeds up to 16x. CD-ROMs are read at speeds up to 52x. Other CD-specific write and read functions match this level of performance. It reads CD-R format discs at speeds up to 40x and writes them at speeds up to 52x. The numbers achieved with the CD-RW format, at 40x (read) and 32x (write), are equally impressive.

DVDs and CDs can thus both be played and written with high-quality, reliability and high-precision.
