Konica Minolta CA-2000 2D Color Analyzer

An instrument for high-resolution, two-dimensional measurement of the luminance distribution and chromaticity distribution of FPDs, projectors, backlights, etc. Processes from measurement to data analysis and evaluation can be performed efficiently in a short time, making the CA-2000 great for development evaluation or product inspection.

Konica Minolta Sensing is proud to introduce the 2D Color Analyzer CA-2000, an instrument for high-accuracy two-dimensional measurements of the colour distribution and uniformity of all kinds of light-emitting devices, including various display devices such as plasma displays, LCD displays, etc. and automotive components such as car navigation systems or instrument panels.

The CA-2000 uses XYZ filters and a high-resolution CCD to offer responsivity closely matching that of the human eye, allowing accurate, high-resolution two-dimensional measurement of the luminance distribution and chromaticity distribution of FPDs, projectors, backlights, etc. The included software is user friendly, enabling quick and efficient measurement, data analysis, and evaluation. This combination of instrument and software is a powerful tool for development evaluation or inspection.

Advanced technology and high reliability to meet customer needs

In 1993, Konica Minolta introduced the 2D Color Analyzer System CA-1000 (exclusively sold in Asia) for measuring color distribution, color uniformity, chromaticity, and luminance in two dimensions of light-emitting devices such as various types of displays, LED products, etc. This was followed in April 2001 by the introduction of the 2-Dimensional Color Distribution Sensor CA-1500 (exclusively sold in Asia), which was highly praised for offering shorter measurement times at lower cost.

With the recent growth of IT businesses and the mainstreaming of digital broadcasting, research and development for various types of displays, focusing on plasma and LCD displays, is proceeding rapidly to offer higher definition and more beautiful images. In addition, development on variable-color meters for automobile instrument panels and other LED products has led to booming demand for more diverse functionality and higher performance in measuring instruments.

With such progress toward higher definition and more vivid colors and the increasingly severe competition among manufacturers, demands for a two-dimensional light-source colorimeter that can obtain high-resolution measurement data with high efficiency have been increasing.

The new 2D Color Analyzer CA-2000 can meet such demands. This instrument can measure the colour distribution, color uniformity, chromaticity, and luminance of light sources at high resolutions of up to 980 × 980 measurement points.

In addition, by using the Color Management Software CA-S20w included as a standard accessory, measurement data can be displayed in an easy-to-understand visual form with simple operation for various types of evaluation and analysis.

Konica Minolta have been active in the field of display and light-source color measurement. The Display Color Analyzer CA-210 for measuring display white balance on manufacturing lines has become a de facto standard in the industry, and the highly praised Luminance & Color Meter CS-200 uses Konica Minolta's original method to provide high-accuracy measurements. Konica Minolta will continue to offer essential products and services to the imaging sector, including the display and light-source color measurement field, as an innovative, global company with advanced technology and high reliability to meet customer needs.
