The Pavilion dv9000z features AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology processors for improved system performance when running multimedia applications at the same time. The AMD processors also supply enhanced virus protection as well as PowerNow! for longer battery life. For less demanding needs you can choose a single-core Sempron processor.

Elegant HP design
The notebooks in this series have a sophisticated black resin finish with an inlaid wave pattern. It's also easy to use: you control the volume and launch buttons by tapping or swiping your finger across a strip on the keyboard.

Videoconferencing and VOIP
With this model's optional integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam and dual omni-directional microphones, it's easy to stay in touch with friends and family. Use the webcam with an instant messaging application to have a live conversation with people who have an Internet connection anywhere in the world. The dv9000z features HP QuickPlay 3.0, which lets you play movies and music at the touch of a button, as well as access photos. An included remote, which tucks away in the ExpressCard slot, lets you control QuickPlay from up to 10 feet away. Transfer photos from a camera to the dv9000z via the media card reader, then use the Photosmart Premier software to edit, print, organize, share, and store. Select a SuperMulti DVD±RW/R drive and turn pictures into movies, or edit video and create CDs and DVDs. Take it a step further by choosing the LightScribe option on the SuperMulti DVD+/RW/R drive, which is 33 percent faster than the previous version and lets you burn silkscreen-quality labels on discs.

The ultimate in gaming and movies
Configure your dv9000z with an optional HD DVD1 drive for astonishing, 1080p resolution when viewing on an HD TV with HDMI notebook connection. HD DVD resolution is far superior to that of regular DVDs, and even superior to what you'll see on most HD TVs.

Excellent connections
The HP xb3000 Notebook Expansion Base (sold separately) connects your dv9000z to peripherals, including a monitor if you want a desktop experience. Other ports: an integrated 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45 connector), four USB 2.0, ExpressCard/54, RJ-11, IEEE 1394 FireWire, S-Video, and consumer IR. For wireless connections, the dv9000z provides integrated 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN with optional Bluetooth.
