Garmin VHF 720 Handheld Radio
Garmin Updated: 2008-09-17 RSSThe VHF 720 is a small, stand-alone radio transceiver that, unlike many handheld radios, can survive constant saltwater spray or even an accidental dunk in the bait well. The battery compartment is sealed off from the main circuitry so the unit remains water tight — even while the batteries are being changed. The battery tray slides out completely for easy loading, and accommodates both alkaline and NiCad batteries.
The VHF 720 boasts a unique "knobless" design for simple operation which allows simultaneous squelch and volume adjustment. A large, backlit display gives crisp detail even in direct sunlight, perfect for communications in open fishing boats. All of the unit's key functions, including squelch and volume adjustment, channel selection, channel scanning, weather alert, and Tri-Watch monitoring, are accessible via a waterproof keypad.
Rain or shine, the Garmin VHF 720 will make a welcome addition to any mariner's footlocker.
