Yamaha YHT-20 Natural Sound One-Box Home Theater Audio System

ALL THE AUDIO EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR SUPERB HOME THEATER IN A SINGLE BOX
Provides an easy way to purchase a home theater component system. The YHT-20 includes a pair of Yamaha's NS-A427 speakers, an NS-AP100 speaker trio including an NS-AC2 center channel and a pair of NS-A76 effects speakers, and a YST-SW40 subwoofer, plus Yamaha's R-V702 home theater receiver.

POWERED BY THE YAMAHA R-V702 HOME THEATER RECEIVER
The R-V702 is a 5-channel receiver providing superb Pro Logic performance and processing and Yamaha's Digital Sound Field Processing, and Cinema DSP.

DISCRETE POWER TRANSISTORS
Discrete power transistors rather than IC chips are used in the amplifier section to provide the cleanest sound possible. The amp delivers 80 watts each to the three front channels and 20 watts each to the rear surround channels.

ACCLAIMED YAMAHA IC CHIPS
Yamaha's YSS-203 chip provides Digital Dolby Pro Logic with full channel separation and no front-to-back bleedthrough as well as 35mm cinema DSP.

8 DSP/CINEMA DSP PROGRAMS -- INCLUDING 35mm MOVIE THEATER CINEMA DSP
In addition to Yamaha's unique Dolby Pro Logic Enhanced (35 mm Movie Theater) and Dolby Pro Logic Surround Programs, the R-V702 offers six HiFi DSP programs: Concert Video, Concert Hall, Rock Concert, Disco and Stadium, and a Mono-Movie program.

NEW UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL
The advanced Universal remote control comes already programmed with codes for most A/V products.

THREE AUDIO AND THREE A/V INPUTS
The R-V702 is a versatile receiver incorporating three sets of audio-only inputs and three sets of A/V inputs.

LOW IMPEDANCE DRIVE CAPABILITY AND IMPEDANCE SWITCHING
Yamaha's famed low impedance drive circuitry is included in this receiver so that it can handle virtually all loads and a wide variety of speakers. For further speaker matching, the receiver's back-panel switches can be set for either 4 or 8 ohm main speakers and 4 or 6 ohm center and surround speakers.

LINEAR DAMPING FACTOR
The advantage of full range, 20 to 20 kHz, damping is that it improves the definition and resolution of the sound output throughout the audible frequency range.

DUAL CENTER CHANNEL OUTPUTS
You can easily add a second center channel speaker. This is especially convenient for large-room systems or for those using a big screen or projection TV.

A/B SPEAKER SELECTOR
Allows selection of either a first set of speakers or a second -- or both.

SLEEP TIMER
Permits a delayed receiver turn off. You can set it up for up to two hours in 30 minute increments.

40-STATION DIRECT ACCESS PRESET TUNING
Up to 40 preset AM and FM stations can be grouped in five groups of eight stations. These groupings make it easy for family members to easily access their favorite stations or to have musical genres, such as all the jazz stations, grouped together.

BINDING POST SPEAKER TERMINALS
Yamaha's heavy-duty binding post speaker terminals accept banana plugs, spade connectors, and a variety of speaker wire, including heavy gauge cable.

TWO-WAY BOOKSHELF MAIN SPEAKERS
Yamaha's magnetically shielded two-way NS-A427 bookshelf speakers are the main pair for the YHT-20. They incorporate a 4-inch polymer-coated midrange-woofer and a 1/2 inch dome tweeter and accurately reproduce music from 60 to 22 kHz.

CENTER AND EFFECTS TRIO
Yamaha's NS-AP100 speaker trio provides the important center channel and effects channels. The NS-AC2 utilizes a pair of 5-inch midrange-woofer drivers and a tweeter. The NS-A76 effects speakers use a single full-range driver.

POWERED YAMAHA SUBWOOFER USING ACTIVE SERVO TECHNOLOGY
Yamaha's Active Servo Technology is a complementary amplifier/speaker system utilizing negative impedance feedback in the amp and a Helmholtz resonator in the speaker to provide strong and accurate bass from small speakers.

SIGNAL SENSING
The subwoofer will automatically activate when its circuitry senses an audio signal and will turn off when the signal has ceased for several minutes.

DUAL INPUTS
Both high-and-low level inputs on the subwoofer provide easy interface to most amplifiers or receivers.

MAGNETIC SHIELDING
The subwoofer is magnetically shielded, so they can be placed near or on a TV or video monitor without degrading the picture via stray magnetic fields.

COMPACT SIZE
A little over a foot high, the slim-line YST-SW40 has a small footprint and can easily fit in small to medium sized rooms.

UP-FRONT CONTROLS
Yamaha has placed the manual on/off and variable high-cut filter controls on the front panel, where they are easy to get to.

8-INCH DRIVER AND 50-WATT AMPLIFIER
The complementary Active Servo Technology system of the YST-SW40 features an 8-inch driver and 50 watt amplifier -- more than enough to deliver deep, rich bass in moderate sized music or home theater systems.

CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE HIGH-CUT FILTER
The user adjustable continuously variable high-cut filter sets the highest frequency the subwoofer will deliver. It can be set anywhere from 40 to 140 Hz. For instance, if the filter is set at 75 Hz, only frequencies 75 Hz and below will be delivered by the subwoofer.

PHASE NORMAL/REVERSE SWITCH
Makes it easy to phase the subwoofer with the other speakers in your system.

HEAVY-DUTY SPEAKER TERMINALS
Yamaha's heavy-duty speaker terminals accept banana plugs, spade connectors, and a variety of speaker wire, including heavy gauge cable.
