ALL THE AUDIO EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR SUPERB HOME THEATER IN A SINGLE BOX
Provides an easy way to purchase a home theater component system. The YHT-31 includes a pair of Yamaha's NS-A437 main speakers, a pair of NS-E60 effects speakers, NS-AC142 center channel, and a YST-SW80 powered subwoofer, plus Yamaha's R-V703 home theater receiver which delivers Dolby Pro Logic and can handle the decoded output of 5.1 channel sources.

VERSATILE, POWERFUL RECEIVER
Powering this flagship system is Yamaha's R-V703 receiver providing 70 watts per channel to the front three channels and 20 watts to each of the rear speakers. It provides Dolby Surround Pro Logic, 8 Yamaha DSP and Cinema DSP modes, and a high quality AM/FM stereo tuner with 40 presets.

5-CHANNEL HOME THEATER RECEIVER WITH DOLBY PRO LOGIC AND CINEMA DSP
The R-V703 is a 5-channel receiver providing superb Pro Logic performance and processing and Yamaha's Digital Sound Field Processing, and Cinema DSP. And it has inputs that can accept the decoded output of a 5.1 channel decoder, such as Yamaha's DDP-2 or other outboard decoder, or a decoded signal from a laser disc or DVD player.

DISCRETE POWER TRANSISTORS
Discrete power transistors rather than IC chips are used in the amplifier section to provide the cleanest sound possible. The amp delivers 80 watts each to the three front channels and 20 watts each to the rear surround channels.

ACCLAIMED YAMAHA IC CHIPS
Yamaha's YSS-203 chip provides Digital Dolby Pro Logic with full channel separation and no front-to-back bleedthrough as well as 35mm Cinema DSP.

FOUR AUDIO AND THREE AUDIO/VIDEO INPUTS
The RX-V703 is a versatile receiver incorporating four sets of audio-only inputs and 3 pairs of A/V inputs. All the video inputs have RCA jacks. Includes one set of A/V inputs on the front panel for fast and easy connection.

LOW IMPEDANCE DRIVE CAPABILITY AND IMPEDANCE SWITCHING
Yamaha's famed low impedance drive circuitry is included in this receiver so that it can handle virtually all loads and a wide variety of speakers. For further speaker matching, the receiver's back-panel switches can be set for either high or low-impedance speakers.

LINEAR DAMPING FACTOR CIRCUIT
The advantage of full range, 20 to 20,000 Hz, damping is that it improves the definition and resolution of the sound output throughout the audible frequency range.

DUAL CENTER CHANNEL OUTPUTS
You can easily add a second center channel speaker. This is especially convenient for large-room systems or for those using a big screen or projection TV.

A/B SPEAKER SLECTOR
Allows selection of either a first set of speakers or a second -- or both.

40-STATION DIRECT ACCESS PRESET TUNING
Up to 40 preset AM and FM stations can be grouped in five groups eight stations.These groupings make it easy for family members to easily access their favorite stations or to have musical genres, such as all the jazz stations, grouped together.

BINDING POST SPEAKER TERMINALS
Yamaha's heavy-duty binding post speaker terminals accept banana plugs, spade connectors, and a variety of speaker wire, including heavy gauge cable.

COMPLETE HOME THEATER SPEAKER ENSEMBLE
The six-speaker complement includes a pair of NA-A437 speakers for the front left and right channels, NS-AC142 for the center, a pair of NS-E60's for the rear effects, and a YST-SW80 subwoofer.

TWO-WAY MAIN SPEAKERS
Yamaha's NS-A437's incorporate a 5-1/4" polypropylene woofer and 1" cloth dome tweeter utilizing a neodymium magnet. Frequency range is a wide 85 to 20,000 Hz.

MAGNETIC SHIELDING
The NS-A437's are magnetically shielded, so they can be placed near or on a TV or video monitor without degrading the picture via stray magnetic field.

DUAL-DRIVER TWO-WAY CENTER CHANNEL SPEAKER
Yamaha's NS-AC142 utilizes two 5" polypropylene woofers and a 1" high tech dome tweeter with a neodymium magnet to deliver the important center channel.

WALL OR SHELF MOUNTABLE REAR EFFECTS SPEAKERS
The versatile NS-E60's provide the rear effects channels. The single 4" driver is full-range and the speakers can be either shelf or wall mounted. Color is white.

DRAMATIC BASS
The low bass YHT-31 system is provided by the Yamaha YST-SW-80 Active Servo Technology subwoofer. It features an 8" driver and 85 watt amplifier to deliver the sonic punch needed for home theater. It is magnetically shielded, so it can be placed near a TV without degrading the picture.

SIGNAL SENSING
The subwoofer will automatically activate when its circuitry senses an audio signal and will turn off when the signal has ceased for several minutes.
