The Astria® content processor (CP) offers service providers with a flexible video delivery platform; the ability to simultaneously serve multiple types of networks (xDSL, FTTx and HFC) and delivery protocols (IP, ATM, IP/ATM); and performs over a dozen video applications — from MPEG-2 encoding and digital turnaround to MPEG-4 AVC encoding and transcoding — all within a single chassis. Service providers use the high density form factor as MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC digital headends to deliver standard and high definition broadcast TV.
